Karaoke in the Garden

 We took the speaker out into the garden this week for karaoke so we could feel the breeze as we sang. Nice! 

Beach Outing

 I was up for an outing on Friday so in the van I went and off to Chapel Street Beach with some mates to hang out and take in the view. Ahhhhh it was a good morning! 

Wilrose Pasifika Festival

 We had our own Pasifika Festival because the actual Tauranga one was cancelled. I told a few jokes about  the countries we featured and they went down a treat!

 

Still smiling

 I get a bit anxious sometimes what with everything going on in the world but it was great to have a laugh with my mates this morning and listen to some cool tunes. I’m still smiling! 

Karaoke

 I enjoy the last session of the week - karaoke and dance. This week I treated my friends to a song by Nirvana!

Rhubarb crumble

  It was great coming back into the centre and seeing all my friends again. I got into the kitchen and helped to make rhubarb crumble. I even tried it once it was cooked ,it wasn’t my cup of tea, but it’s good to try new things! 

Fun Friday

 I love coming to Wilrose on a Friday it was good to see my mates and I had a relaxing day. 

Healthy lifestyle balance

 It was good having a group chat about what we all do to have a healthy lifestyle balance in life skills. I enjoyed referring to my weekend in Auckland. 

Rock n roll dance

 What a fun day we had at the Wilrose Rock n Roll Dance. There was pumpkin soup and fried bread for lunch too - which was yum! I loved seeing my friends cool dance moves!!!!! And the not so cool ones ……. ha ha! 

My time

 I enjoyed going on the desk top and checking out lots of my favourite bands like nirvana in MyTime. 

Music

 Check me out I’m having a jam on the ukulele it was pretty cool playing a different instrument 

Catwalk Fashion Show

 I donned a lady’s wig and teamed it with a hat and blanket ensemble to create my female persona “Matteline” - hello! 

Tennis

 I enjoyed joining the sports group for a spot of tennis at Welcome Bay Tennis Courts. 

Wii games

 I played bowling with some friends in the Wii but I kept dropping the ball and getting them in the gutter! I did get some pins down in the end! 

Te Reo Shape Bingo

 We learned the shape names in Te Reo Maori by playing a bingo game with them. I was the ultimate loser though!

Fun and Games

 I enjoyed playing some games and having a chat with my mates in Tuesday. Me ol’ mate Nigel even came to check out how the game was going! 

Fishing

 I loved getting out smelling the sea breeze and fishing with my friends. We even caught a small fish but threw it back to let it grow bigger.

Zero Waste Workshop

 Casey from Tauranga Council came to the centre to talk about how we can reduce our waste and about rubbish and recycling. It was really interesting. 

Friends

 I got Sophie to come into the art room with me by encouraging her to help push my chair through and she did very well. 

Birthday celebrations

 Today we celebrated my birthday at Wilrose it was awesome 

Chef Warner

 I was a Suey chef in the kitchen helping to cook up this yummy fresh Kahawai fish. We squeeze lemon juice, onions and garlic and fresh herbs on it and then steamed it in the oven. It tasted wonderful. 

My time

 I enjoy hanging out listening to some of my favourite music on the iPad in my time. My favourite artist is 2pac and Nirvana. 

Quiz morning

 I enjoyed working with my team mates on the quiz day. My favourite round was the music one. I helped my team with some of the answers and we ended up winning the quiz!
